Pre-law students across the country are being swindled by a Houston business that
is impersonating a nationally famous company with the same name. Many of these students
paid over $1,000 each to enroll in the TestMasters LSAT Course, only to find out
afterwards that they had given their money to impostors.
This website tells the incredible story of how the incompetence
of one law firm—Duane Morris LLP—paved the way for the Houston business to
defraud consumers everywhere.
In 2004, TestMasters sued the Duane Morris law firm in Texas state court for legal malpractice.
Duane Morris had the case removed to federal court, and for four years did everything in its power
to avoid facing a trial on the merits. But in 2008 the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals finally put an
end to Duane Morris’s filibustering when it ruled that the federal court lacked jurisdiction over the lawsuit.
The action was then refiled in state court and is currently pending.
